Paper machine with deckle width 5700 mm, production 463 t/ day producing paper 27.6 to 34 lbs per 3300 sq.ft, of Newsprint, Beloit manufacture in 1976, many rebuilds. Speed 1300 m/min.

Stock approach
Primary fan pump is a Goulds MD 2420L with a 1000hp motor. Secondary fan pump is a Goulds MD 2420L with a 1000 hp motor. The motor has a variable DC speed drive.

This machine has a Clark and Vicario Deculator on the roof for air removal from stock.

Flowbox/forming section
Beloit Converflo design with 7 Lexan sheets,New Aquaflat in 316L s.steel apron installed 1995, Forming section  Bel Baie 11, 9 retention blades followed by a 12” vacuum box (6 “ Hg) vacuum deflector and double doctored couch roll.Flooded nip shower.

Press sections
Beloit tri nip press. Venta-Nip bottom press with loading 400 pli, stainless suction roll with a Poly-dyne cover blind drilled  and loading 500 pli, granite roll and CC poly covered roll second press and third press 600pli. Two Uhle boxes on pick up, one on third and bottom felts (ceramic coated rods with 1.5”openings). All felts and rolls have oscillating high pressure showers.
Vacuum is from three Nash 14002 pumps for the press section and two Nash 14002 for the couch roll.

Dryer sections
Total of 39 drying cylinders with a diameter of 2194mm in three sections , first section numbers 1 to 11 are  uni –run with no steam on the bottom dryers, the second section dryers 12 to 25 are double felted, the third section dryers 26 to 39 are double felted. All dryers have internall spoiler bars and stationary siphons which were in 1996, dryers have bolted ends, blow through steam control, Measurex controlled spray bar for moisture and profile control. The dryers are equipped with hood exhaust and pocket ventilation fans. Valmet blow boxes in Uni-run section and a double press run blow box to stabilize the sheet from the granite roll installed with three drive sections. Central lubrication systems and A/F bearings.

Calender
Six roll calendar stack with Beloit versa-nip with CC roll in the king and Droll positions. Rolls are water controlled on some rolls and the caliper profiler is measures Cal-trol with 3000 watt heaters on 3” centres. Fibron tail feed system.
Scanner
Measurex model 2002 scanner measuring basis weight, caliper, moisture, brightness thermatrol, caltrol and moistrol actuators.

Reel up
Beloit horizontal track reel up with a 914mm diameter grooved drum ans 12 rubber covered reel shells.
Dry end pulper with two vertical rotors.

 

Slitter Rewinder
Beloit Super L with web driven 10 slitters. Drive Reliance manufacture Maxline analog installed 1975, gearboxes driving via two motors. Unwind has a break generator. Rewind diameter 1524 mm and shaftless rewind.

Machine house has two overhead cranes.
